The Convertible is a highly variable designed filtration manifold system for concentration and immobilisation of up to 96 samples of nucleic acids and proteins on to a membrane with the use of a vacuum source.
The unique design of the manifold (patented) eliminates the need of screws or clamps for easy assembly. Instead, the seal between top plate, membrane, gasket and base plate is formed with the same vacuum source that completes filtration. The vacuum applied for filtration should be 25 - 35 mbar.
The apparatus is capable of producing a variety of loading patterns as a result of its modular design: The universal base plate accepts 4 interchangable top plates and gaskets. Sample wells in the top plate are arranged to match the dimensions of multichannel pipettes / microtiter plate format.
