Introduction SequencingBiometra offers two different systems for vertical separation of nucleic acids. The Model S2 Sequencing Gel Electrophoresis Apparatus is well known in many laboratories throughout the world and can be regarded as a standard in this field. The system is suited for vertical polyacrylamid gel separation of oligo- and polynucleotides, manual nucleic acid sequencing, genotyping and polymorphic studies. The Model SA Adjustable Sequencing Gel Electrophoresis System comes in different lengths. The base unit can be upgraded by an internal extension.
All Sequencing Apparatus have an internal Aluminum plate for even heat distribution. Faster migration in the center of the gel is avoided (smiling effect) resulting in an straight migration front. The systems have an patented internal drain system to release the upper buffer volume to the lower chamber, which can then be removed for safe buffer disposal. Many accessories for gel casting and sample application are included in the systems. A broad range of additional analytical and preparative combs is available.
