Synthesis scale

Purification
Biometra oligonucleotides are available at three different purification grades. By standard a molecular biology grade purification is always included without extra charge. The advanced HPLC purification grade or cell culture purification grade have to be ordered seperately.
Molecular biology grade purification
Salts, base protecting groups and short failure sequences up to 6 bases are removed efficiently. The final yield of full length product depends on chain length and coupling efficiency. The synthesis of a typical 20mer with an average coupling yield of 98.5 % yields 70 % of full length product. This purification is recommended for standard molecular biology applications such as PCR, sequencing (oligonucleotides up to 30 bases).
PCR grade purification (HPLC)
In addition to the removal of salts and base protecting groups, the trityl-on HPLC step efficiently removes trityl-off failure sequences. This purification is recommended for all applications where full-length primers or high reproducibility are essential, including PCR, cloning, Mutagenesis, modified oligonucleotides and all oligonucleotides longer than 40 bases. Cell culture grade purification
